Tadmur Holding has presented Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar Foundation with TADMUR Special Award.
This research project analyzes the interaction between the climate change and built environment. As a result, HBKU have recommended policies development for the refurbishment of the existing building stock in GCC countries to reduce building energy consumption in the future. These policies are stressed to be well thought through and avoid “one-size-fits-all” concept, taking into account location, geometry, envelope thermal properties, daily routines of tenants/owners among others.
The research title is CLIMATE CHANGE IMPLICATIONS FOR BUILT ENVIRONMENT: IMPACTS, MITIGATION MEASURES AND ASSOCIATED CHALLENGES IN GCC COUNTRIES and is been produced by Ivan Andric, Muammer Koc, Sami Al-Ghamdi from the Division of Sustainable Development, College of Science and Engineering at HBKU.
